Hazardous & Non-Hazardous Material Clean Up

Cleveland Master of Disasters removes hazardous and non-hazardous materials from your facility with specialized cleaning methods. Our professional staff provides cleanup services for traumatic and emotional events such as crime scenes, unattended deaths, homicides and suicides, blood and bodily fluids, and illegal drug laboratories. Here are the kinds of biohazards we remove:

Biohazard—A risk to human health or the environment arising from biological work, especially with microorganisms.

Biohazardous Waste—Products, such as bodily fluids and tissues, which have the risk of carrying human pathogens. Biohazardous waste often originates from health care facilities or research laboratories, and places a relatively small or confined group of people at increased risk for infection during the time necessary for the infectious agent to dry or otherwise become inactive.

Trauma Cleaning/Bio Cleaning—Involves using proper techniques and safety controls in place with specialized training in blood-borne pathogens, HazCom, confined spaces and fit testing for required respirators. This also involves proper donning and removing of PPE, along with following all federal, state and local guidelines for disposal and OSHA protection of employees.

Hazardous Cleanup

Hazardous Wastes: We specialize in the safe handling, treatment, storage and disposal of hazardous wastes to comply with EPA requirements

Underground Storage Tanks: Releases can contaminate soil, groundwater, surface water or indoor air. We focus on detecting and cleaning up hazardous releases using standards set by the EPA and by state regulations, too. Cleaning up UST releases is vital to protect our environment and the health of the surrounding population.

Lead-Based Paint & Asbestos: Our staff professionals work under EPA requirements [including the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA)] to remove these unsafe materials, and to make sure all standards are met and, most importantly, that the site is left in a safe condition.

Accidental Releases: When accidental chemical releases occur, we respond immediately to identify the extent of the danger and then contain it to prepare to remove it.

Biohazard Cleanup

Our restoration professionals provide cleanup services for traumatic and emotional events. We are sensitive to your needs and offer biohazard cleanup for crime scenes, unattended deaths, homicides and suicides, blood and bodily fluids, and illegal drug laboratories. Your privacy is important to us and we strive to be as discreet as possible throughout decontamination and restoration.

Lead-Based Paint: The EPA enforces requirements under the Residential Lead-Based Paint Hazard Reduction Act. Contractors and construction professionals who work in pre-1978 housing or child-occupied facilities must follow lead-safe work practice standards to reduce lead exposure. This includes providing owners, tenants and child care facilities with lead-based paint information, and notifying them about the presence of lead. Owners and landlords of pre-1978 residential housing must give tenants a lead-based paint warning pamphlet and notify the tenants of known lead-based paint in the housing. Sellers are subject to similar requirements. Learn more about lead.

Asbestos: The EPA enforces regulations under the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) on how to respond to asbestos in schools. The EPA also enforces worker protection standards for certain state and local government employees who are not protected by the asbestos standards of the Occupational Safety and Health Act.

Accidental Releases: The EPA enforces requirements under Section 112(r) of the Clean Air Act to prevent chemical accidents and releases. Owners and operators of sources producing, processing and storing extremely hazardous substances must identify hazards associated with an accidental release; design and maintain a safe facility; prepare a Risk Management Plan (RMP); and minimize consequences of accidental releases that occur. The EPA conducts inspections and reviews facility RMPs to verify compliance and ensure the quality of the overall preparedness, prevention and response.
